Mission
Our mission at St. Catherine School is to educate students in an urban community. Service to God and others is a core teaching of our Catholic faith, and in our classrooms, it informs all learning. By promoting academic excellence and personal responsibility, we prepare students for lifelong learning and faith-filled living.
We commit ourselves as an anchor of stability in our neighborhood and beyond through a supportive community committed to the Catholic and Christian values of word, worship, and service.
Values
Be Caring, Be Honest, Be Respectful, Be Independent, Show Self Control and Be Thankful
Christian values are at the core of our Catholic faith education. We encourage students to incorporate Christian values of service and stewardship into their daily lives. School programs, such as Safety Cadets and Kindergarten Big Buddies, bring students of different ages together in academic and social situations. Middle school students are able to serve the St. Catherine Food Pantry to see the direct result of their efforts to serve others in the community around them. Through these daily opportunities, our older students strive to reflect Christ for their younger peers.
Our students learn and grow in the Christian faith through daily instruction. Students are taught the beliefs and teachings of the Catholic Church with an emphasis on living Christian values and building strong moral character. Aside from religion classes, students participate in a weekly all-school prayer service, held on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. All students are expected to be present for and participate in the religion classes and services that make up an important part of the curriculum and Christian environment here at St. Catherine.
