Introducing the Seton Semester Corps

Adam Schmidt, Director of Talent and Strategy

Seton Catholic Schools is committed to developing highly-effective teachers and building sustainable career pathways in Catholic education. Our innovative Semester Corps rotational program provides new teachers a supportive on-ramp to the profession and an opportunity to build skills and contribute to classroom and school outcomes.

Semester Corps teachers are full-time faculty members of the Seton Catholic Schools network who rotate between schools and assignments during the spring semester, from late January to mid-June. Semester Corps teachers will gain experience in multiple schools and may be assigned to support instruction within a set of classrooms, co-teach alongside a master teacher, and/or fill-in for a teacher on leave throughout the semester.

Teachers in the Semester Corps will participate in school and network professional development, including our monthly Seton Teacher Academy presented in partnership with the Center for Urban Teaching. All Seton teachers are also supported by school leaders and instructional coaches. As a cohort, Semester Corps teachers will also design and execute a school-based service project.

The Seton Semester Corps is a ideal opportunity for winter graduates of teacher preparation programs who are looking for full-time, salaried opportunities to teach and grow in a supportive, faith-filled environment.
